This hit me hard...

I fell in love with him in 10 Things I Hate About You (so much so that I bought the film on DVD). When I saw his photo and the headline that he'd been found dead, I burst into tears. The reaction was unexpected. I haven't reacted this way to a famous loss since Jim Henson died.

What the hell happened? It's just senseless.

I'll miss you Heath.

you cried, i cried, a couple of my girls cried and even my husband was sad....this was talent which will never realize the full (amazing) potential and the daddy whom a 2 year old little girl will never really know personally.
so very, very sad.

I love that clip! Never saw that movie.

Funny, with all of his critical acclaim, the very first movie I think of when I hear his name is also "10 Things I Hate About You".

This was very sad for such a young person to die when they had so much potential.

I couldn't believe it myself. I ran out of the room yelling, "I just saw on the tv that Heath Ledger is dead. Is it a joke?". Sadly, it isn't. I can't stand to hear all the criticism either. None of us outside his personal circle knew him and no one has the right to judge.

When I read the headlines I was thinking what kind of sick joke is this! I didn't want it to be true. Yes, I cried also, as did my daughter. I fell in love with him in 10 things I hate about you also. He was to damn young.

I was going to post a black and white photo (for a photo challenge) of Kim climbing those stairs/bleachers shown in the movie - she has her head down and looks so sad. I wanted to do a bit of a tribute to him. I just couldn't write the words.

As an FYI - that high school is here in Tacoma and that is where Sonny graduated from. It's a really awesome school with a lot of history.

Anyway, I'm with you, it was very sad to lose this young talented and handsome actor.

I watched my favorite Heath Ledger movie this weekend: A KNIGHT'S TALE. I just LOVED him in that. (I also loved 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU.)

I couldn't cry when I learned he was found dead--I was at work. But I was rocked from my soul to my toes.
